Getting started
What is FPA?
Full Potential Academy is an independent weekly 11+ practice programme for children preparing for entry to secondary school. It includes tests in Maths, Reading, Verbal Reasoning and Non-Verbal & Spatial Reasoning, plus optional practice games and Writing Academy. See a week at FPA or meet the founder.
What does the free Diagnostic involve?
20 questions across the four core subjects, taking around 10–20 minutes. We email you a result with something your child did well and a useful next step. It is a first look, not a prediction of an exam result or an automatically generated study plan. Try the free Diagnostic.
Will I need to pay afterwards?
Only if you choose to join. The Diagnostic is free and asks for no payment details. Membership is £10 a month for one child; there is no automatic subscription after the Diagnostic.
What happens after we join?
We email your child’s username and access code. They can then take a fuller baseline, one subject at a time, and get started with the available practice. There is no need to do everything on the first day.
The email has not arrived. What should I do?
Check your spam or junk folder first, and check the address you entered. Use the resend option if it is shown, and enter the newest code. Still stuck? Contact FPA support. Please do not send your access code.
Your child’s week
Do we have to practise every day?
No. Your child has one test in each of the four core subjects each week. Spread them out to suit your family. Optional games and writing are there for a little extra practice, not another list of jobs to finish.
What help is available during practice?
The optional practice helper offers checked hints and explanations. Children can ask for a clue or type a short question about where they are stuck. It is a focused helper, not an open-ended chat. Hints are not available in the weekly tests.
Are there games?
Yes — short word, number and picture games. They practise useful skills, without coins, leaderboards or a streak to worry about. A few thoughtful minutes can be enough.
Can my child write by hand?
Yes. In Writing Academy they can type or upload clear photographs of handwriting. There is one full submission each week, with planning ideas and sentence starters available. During beta, FPA’s founder reviews AI-assisted feedback before it is released. Parent emails are sent no earlier than 48 hours after submission; review can take longer. See a writing example.
Can we use paper instead?
Some weekly tests have a print option. If your child works on paper, enter their answers online afterwards to save the result. The free Diagnostic is online only.
How do I keep up with their progress?
The pupil account shows completed work and next steps. You can also choose a Monday-morning parent email when there are completed weekly results to report. Choose your weekly email preference.
Schools and tests
Is this for my child’s school?
FPA builds skills used across different 11+ tests. It does not reproduce every school’s paper. Find your school and check its own admissions information. Our finder clearly separates checked test guides from school listings whose details still need checking.
Does choosing a school change the tests?
Not yet. You can save a shortlist and use the guidance to help choose extra practice. Your child’s weekly tests stay the same. We will be clear when further school-specific features are available.
Can you tell me whether my child will pass?
No single practice result can tell us that. We show what your child answered correctly and what is worth another look. We do not give an IQ score, a percentile or a promise of a school place.
Are you connected to the schools or test providers?
No. FPA is independent. School names help you find information; they do not mean a school endorses us or works with us.
Membership and help
What does £10 a month include?
Membership for one child: the weekly programme, optional Skill Practice and Writing Academy, including the current beta features. You can try the free Diagnostic before deciding; there is no free membership trial. See membership details.
Can I cancel?
Yes. Email kevin@fullpotentialacademy.co.uk from your billing email address. See the terms, cancellation and refund information for what happens next.
We have lost the login details. Can you help?
Yes. Recover your child’s access here using the parent email linked to the account. Their saved work stays in place. Check spam or junk if the recovery email does not arrive.
What does beta mean?
FPA is open and you can use it now. We are still improving it with families’ feedback. If something feels awkward or does not work as expected, tell Kevin. It helps us make it better.
Is my child’s information public?
No. Children use made-up usernames, with no public profiles or social sharing. Read how we look after their information.
