About FPA

A teacher’s eye.
A parent’s understanding.

Full Potential Academy was founded by Kevin to make thoughtful, confidence-building practice easier to fit into family life.

Meet the founder

Kevin is a former teacher with over 20 years of teaching experience and a private tutor specialising in 11+ and Key Stage 2 (KS2). He began teaching in 2002 and holds a BA in English Language and Literature and a PGCE with Qualified Teacher Status.

His experience spans KS2, KS3 and GCSE, including supporting pupils with special educational needs or English as an additional language. He tutors for 11+ entrance exams across the country and has taught GCSE English online to pupils around the world.

He is also a parent to three boys, so he knows a useful plan needs to leave room for everything else children do.

What FPA is here to do

Help children understand what they’re doing, have a go without worrying about getting everything right, and know what to try next. A mistake should lead somewhere useful.

For parents, that means clear feedback and a manageable routine. You shouldn’t need to become an exam expert to help your child.

Experience behind the practice

FPA brings together classroom teaching, tutoring and family experience. The aim is straightforward: worthwhile practice, help with mistakes and something clear to try next. During the Writing Academy beta, AI helps prepare the feedback and FPA’s founder checks it before a child receives it.

Built to keep getting better

FPA is open in beta. Tell us what helps, what feels awkward and what you’d like us to improve. We’re listening.
